While we all enjoy travelling and meeting new men make sure you don't come back with an unwelcome STD and/or HIV.
Recent Australian news report have highlighted the need to practice safe sex when travelling.
While the story focusses on Asia and the surging HIV infection in Asia the reality is that you can't assume anything about the HIV status of any man.
You should always take condoms and lube wherever you travel. You may not intend to have sex on your holiday but one never knows.
Like travel insurance you shouldn't travel without them. You may not need them but if you decide on some sex with a local man or another traveller having a few condoms and lube handy saves you having to try to find them in a local shop.
The Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations has a good resource on their website for people travelling within Australia or overseas - the information applies wherever live in Australia or not. The booklet itself was published in 2004 - but the advice is still valid today.
The video below is a good reminder that it is your responsibility whether you have safe sex.
